About Us
Rescue Rides is a 501c3 Non Profit organization founded in 2017 by Kate Concannon to save horses at "high" risk of being shipped to slaughter. Rescue Rides is currently caring for ten ( 10 ) lucky horses on a long term basis. Many of our horses are older, or have suffered injuries. A few of the younger healthy horses will be trained by Ed Diaz of Serene Horse Ranch to participate in summer riding camps, and possibly offered for lease or adoption. All potential adoptees are carefully screened, and are required to sign a strict adoption contract for the safety of the horses. All Rescue Rides horses are micro chipped and if not adoptable are provided with a safe sanctuary for the rest of their lives. Rescue Rides Officers include Kate Concannon, President, Teresa Waltman, Vice President, and Sandy McPhail Secretary and Treasurer.
Our History
" Sully" was Kate's first rescue in 2011. Seeing a need to help more of these unfortunate horses, "Rescue Rides" a 501c3 Non Profit was formed in 2017. Our organization currently provides long term care to ten ( 10 ) lucky rescue horses at three amazing facilities !
Our Mission
Rescue Rides mission is to save auction horses at "high risk" of being shipped to slaughter. Rescue Rides provides full care and a safe sanctuary for the horses that are not adoptable, and retraining for the young horses that one day may be adopted into loving forever homes. All of our horses receive the love and respect they deserve, and the highest level of care possible.
